What to Expect

We want all of our guests to have an exceptional time while they’re in our care, and in order to do so, we require that all owners complete the Ruffin’ It Resort Enrollment Packet as well as provide us with a copy of your dog’s vaccination records. This is an opportunity for you to give us important information about your pooch, so we can ensure they are cared for in a way that’s right for them. We require the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies vaccination

  • Distemper combination vaccination

  • Bordatella vaccination

  • Flu vaccination (beginning November 1st)

  • Negative fecal test every six months

Upon the receipt of this paperwork, Ruffin’ It Resort will schedule a socialization evaluation with you and your pup! On the day of your pup’s evaluation, your dog will slowly be introduced to some fellow guests. In order for your pet to get acquainted with their environment as well as being around a large group of dogs, we only bring out one or two dogs at a time, so your pet does not become distressed. Just like us humans, some dogs easily jump into new social situations while others may take a bit of time to open up, and for some, daycare is just not the right fit for them. That’s okay! These evaluations are meant for us to see how your pup gets along with our other guests to ensure that everyone has a paw-sitive experience!

If you have a preferred food or snack you like your pooch to eat, you’re more than welcome to bring it along! We like to offer our good-natured guests with delicious, high-quality treats as a reward for great behavior.

For owners who want to really spoil their pets, they can opt for their dog to participate in Yappy Hour where we provide gourmet treats such as a chilled doggie sundae for just $3.00. Ruffin’ It Resort’s Cancellation Policy

If our guests could talk, we’re pretty confident they’d tell you how much they love spending time at Ruffin’ It Resort! As a result of our popularity among Madison’s doggy-crowd, we do enforce a 48-hour cancellation policy. We understand that sometimes plans change, however, any alterations made to reservations without a 48-hour prior notice will be charged the full amount for the rest of the stay.

Holidays are a busy time for everyone, us included! During this time, we require that any cancellations be made 7 days in advance.

The 7-day cancellation policy is in effect for the following holidays:

  • Spring Break /Easter

  • Memorial Day weekend

  • Independence Day weekend

  • Labor Day weekend

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas/New Year’s
