Growing up in Florida, Kathy's best friends and confidantes were the animals with whom she lived, including dogs, cats, birds and fish. Her passion for animals led her to major in environmental studies (and political science) at Washington University in St. Louis. After college, she moved to Seattle and worked at a large law firm for four years. Her legal experience ultimately took her to law school in New York, from which she graduated in 2007. Over the years, Kathy has worked at a Humane Society, volunteered at an animal sanctuary for dogs, cats, and farm animals, and interned with the humane law enforcement department at an SPCA chapter. Upon moving to Madison to live closer to family, she decided to pursue her true passion – animals. She loves her job at Ruffin’ It and is so thankful for the personal relationships she's made with our guests. They make her smile and laugh every day and constantly remind her to live life to its fullest. Kathy has been trained in small animal massage therapy and thoroughly enjoys offering massage to our guests. She lives with her husband, their 10-year-old Doberman mix, Rana, and two cats.
